John Tynan is the Chairman & CEO of TynanGroup LP. which he founded in Santa Barbara, California over two decades ago.

Twenty years and over $8.5 billion of development experience gives John one of the most respected project managers in the country. His wealth of exposure involving commercial, industrial, and residential development has benefited some of the biggest corporations in America as Chairman & CEO of TynanGroup LP. 

Mr. Tynan has developed a full-service consulting firm with offices strategically located across the country. His company’s achievement is attributed to its understanding of all facets of project processes and development.

Prior to founding TynanGroup, Mr. Tynan spent nearly a decade managing the construction of several luxury resort and hotel projects for Hyatt Development Corporation. As Vice President of Planning and Construction, Mr. Tynan successfully oversaw the entitlements, design management and construction of some $1.5 billion dollars in project expenditures and a total field force of over 9000 people.

John Tynan is a frequent speaker with industry and trade publications as well as conventions and Fortune 500 corporate retreats. Recently, Irish American Magazine named Mr. Tynan one of its “Business 100.” Mr. Tynan holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.

Brian Nystuen is the President of TynanGroup, LP. With over thirty-five years of in the industry, he brings an extensive and varied background of hospitality development, leadership, and experience.

Brian’s vast project experience includes all phases of entitlement, project programming, contract negotiations, design development and the complete scope of project administration. In addition he has worked on over fifty hotel, resort, and casino projects. 

Brian has extensive experience in commercial, industrial, residential, educational, and public works projects.

Brian excels at handling the oversight of large project teams on complex, challenging projects. His leadership capability allows Brian to masterfully manage all project elements, including bid and contract negotiations, design team selection and coordination, overall field supervision, budget and schedule development/control, and management of site inspections and project quality control. Brian maintains a proven track record of completing large complex projects within budget and on schedule.

Brian has been instrumental in TynanGroup’s growth over the last several decades, and in his role as President establishes strategy, provides operational oversight, and brings resources and knowledge to project teams to ensure each project managed by TynanGroup is successful.

Mr. Nystuen holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, College of Engineering/Division of Construction.

David Odell is the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Development for TynanGroup, Inc. A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Odell is responsible for all financial aspects of the corporation, including the oversight of the company’s Finance Department.

In addition, Mr. Odell leads the firm’s Real Estate Development Division, where he integrates his finance background into due diligence and deal structuring.

Mr. Odell has been with TynanGroup for more than a decade and brings with him countless experience in public finance and accounting, with an emphasis in real estate and business tax. 

Not only is he indispensable to the company, but he successfully manages the double-digit growth TynanGroup experiences every year and positions the company to take advantage of the upsurge in the real estate development and hospitality industries.
