Recognized as one of the world’s premier music programs, the Music Academy of the West’s campus wide renovation enhances the historic site. Improvements included a rebuild of Hahn Hall, the new 9,500 SF Luria Student Center, seismic upgrade, and renovation of the historic Miraflores main house, Teaching Studio Building and preservation of a butterfly habitat. It also included upgrades to the utility infrastructure and site lighting, expanded parking and reworking of the campus circulation. The 102 conditions of approval from the Montecito Planning Commission require an intensive coordination between the project and an engaged community.
