For over ten years, TynanGroup has provided project management services for the Santa Barbara Zoological Gardens. In this capacity, TynanGroup has overseen the development, approval, design, and construction of projects such as the Cats of Africa, Asian Elephants, White Handed Gibbons, Giraffe, California Condor, Channel Island Fox, and Tortoise exhibits, a hilltop facility intended for special events, and a LEED-certified education center for the Santa Barbara Zoo.

Since the zoo is located on a coastal bluff in the California Coastal Zone, the terrain has required extensive and challenging ADA upgrades. In addition, the animal exhibits have required the daily input of zoologists, arborists, Native American monitors, archaeologists, and sensitive habitat biologists, making for a very complex build.

TynanGroup successfully coordinated all aspects of the Master Plan, delivering a state-of-the-art zoo to the Santa Barbara Community.
